Senior SEO Consultant
Where the expert voice starts shaping the agency rather than the accounts. You are accountable for outcomes beyond your own portfolio or discipline, without controlling the resource that delivers them. You keep a set of client accounts you own and deliver directly, where your expertise matters most. You move expertise in SEO forward, defining the standards the discipline works to.
How this role differs
You move from owning the method across a portfolio to owning outcomes beyond it: a service line, a cross-discipline approach or a capability the agency needs.
The Senior Consultant carries the outcome through expertise and external standing, without the resource. The Senior SEO Manager carries it through managers, and builds the people who will hold it next.
Roles and responsibilities
- Own an SEO outcome not confined to your accounts: a method, a capability, a point of view.
- Represent the agency externally in SEO through talks, publishing and work that brings inbound interest.
- Raise the ceiling so the Strategists around you get measurably better.
- Be accountable for SEO results without controlling the resource that delivers them.
- Pull Digital PR and Data & Insights into the SEO strategy to make it stronger.
- Make SEO, Digital PR and AI search work as one answer rather than three separate workstreams.
- Set standards for the discipline that other people's accounts are held to.
- Build the strategic case behind significant new business.
- Keep a set of client accounts you own and deliver directly, where your expertise matters most.
